Miscellaneous Information
Donald was born on 5 October 1918 at Toronto. Both parents were born in Scotland, his mother being deceased by the time of Donald's enlistment and his father shown as a retired operator. He attended Frankland School, Toronto 1924- 1932 and Jarvis Collegiate 1932-1937. The sports he took part in were skiing, tennis and swimming. Donald took a course in banking in 1938 and worked as a bank clerk at the Dominion Bank, Toronto 1937-1940. He enlisted 16 December 1940. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and arrived at 3 PRC on 19 October 1941. He was at 21 OTU on 18 November 1941, 12 OTU 9 December 1941, and 156 Squadron on 28 April 1942. Sadly Donald lost his life the following month on 20 May 1942. |
