| Operation | Training- last dual circuit before the pilot under training took the aircraft up for his first solo flight |
| Reason for Aircraft Loss | F/O Marsh and the Pupil Pilot F/L McKinnon had completed their last dual circuit, and the pupil was to continue solo. However, a coolant leak in the port inner engine had been noticed and F/O Marsh was going to check this and indicate to the Pupil whether he was to return to dispersal or not. After looking at the engine, Marsh endeavoured to pass forward between the two port engines and the port outer propeller struck him on the head. |
