Reason for Loss | Crash landed at RAF Martlesham Heath, Suffolk at 04:45 after being badly hit by flak following the bombing run over Essen (from 12000'). P/O Lloyd was seriously injured in the attack and died later the same day of his injuries. The remainder of the crew were uninjured. |
