Miscellaneous Information
| Frank was born on 9 October 1910 at Saskatoon. Both parents were born in Nova Scotia. His father, a tailor, at Alton, Nova Scotia and his mother at Truro. He had one married sister. Frank attended Buena Vista /King Edward College, 1916-1924, and Nutana Collegiate, Moose Jaw 1925-1929, University of Saskatchewan 1929- 1931 (engineering), Saskatoon Tech 1932-1933 (business). He enjoyed most sports including golf, tennis, skiing and swimming. Frank worked as a clerk in the Department of Education , Regina, 1932-34 (Temporary). Then, as a temporary secretary for Doctor Anderson, Regina between 1933 and 1934. Later, he worked in the Manitoba Clothing Co, Winnipeg as an apprentice (1935-1936) and then from 1936 onwards for his father, a tailor, as a junior partner 1936, until enlisting. |
| After enlisting on 9 August 1940 and on completion of his training in Canada, Frank was posted to the U.K. embarking from Canada on 29 June 1941. He arrived at 3 PRC on 29 July 1941, 19 OTU on 3 August 1941, 11 OTU 29 September 1941, 1651 CU 22 April 1942 and 149 Squadron on 3 May 1942. The following month on 6 June 1942 Frank sadly lost his life. |
