Miscellaneous Information
Albert was born at Brûlé Mines, Alberta on 3 July 1922. His father was born in Nova Scotia and worked as a Railroad Engineer and his mother was born af Fernie, British Columbia. She sadly died in 1927. He had a brother Gordon. The schools he attended were Blueberry Mountain, Alberta 1928-1936 and Ridgeway School, North Vancouver where he spent six months in 1938 studying Auto Mechanics. The sports he took part in were baseball and rugby. Albert took on various jobs between 1936-1939 and then, 1939-1942 he worked as a Forest Ranger for the British Columbia Forest Service . |
Albert enlisted on 8 October 1942 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from New York on 3 August 1943 and arrived at 3PRC on 12 August 1943. He then went to 17 OTU on 24 August 1943, 1665 CU 12 November 1943, 1653 CU 16 December 1943, 31 Base 1 January 1944 and 115 Squadron 28 February 1944. On 25 April 1944 Albert sadly lost his life. |
