Miscellaneous Information
Percy was born at Montreal, Quebec on 3 May 1918. His father was born in Montreal and his mother in Scotland. He had one brother William Wilson Leslie and a sister Agnes Wilson Leslie who died in infancy on 8 June 1915. The schools he attended were Selwyn House School, Montreal 1925-1934 followed by Bishop’s College School at Lennoxville, Quebec 1934-1936 and then at McGiill University 1936-1937 (School of Commerce). His sport interests were hockey, swimming, football and tennis. Percy worked for A.C. Leslie & Co. in Montreal as a clerk during the summers of 1938 , 1939 and 1940 when he then enlisted on 30 October 1940. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada on 13 December 1941 arriving at 3PRC on 26 December 1941. He then continued to 42 OTU on 16 March 1942 and then 114 Squadron on 18 June 1942. It was from there on 26 July 1942 that Percy sadly lost his life. |
