Miscellaneous Information
Elliott was born 25 March 1910 at Chillicothe, Missouri. His father, who was prominent attorney, was born at Bedford and his mother at Boonville Missouri. He had one brother named Randall. He went to Grade school, Chillicothe 1915-1923 followed by three years at High School Chillicothe 1923-1927. Between 1927-1930 he describes himself on his enlistment papers as 'idle' andthen spent three years at Missouri State Teachers College at Marville 1930-1933 (pre-legal) and finally, three years at University of Kansas City, Missouri (Law-LLB Degree). Between 1934-1936 Elliott worked as a Bond Salesman for D.B. Luther and then returned to school. Then, between 1939-1940 he was self employed as an Attorney at Law. TFor sport he took part in a little boxing. |
He enlisted on 27 January 1942 and after training was sent to the U.K. where he arrived on 18 October 1942. He went on to 23 OTU 6 November 1942, and 425 Squadron on 20 March 1943. Elliott sadly lost his life the following month on 12 April 1943. |
