Miscellaneous Information
Raymond was born at Richard, Saskatchewan on 3 July 1914. His father, unemployed, was born at Arkell, Ontario and his mother at Quebec (died 1938). He had a sister Florence. Raymond went to Public school Grandview, Manitoba, 1921-1930. He had no hobbies but he enjoyed playing curling. He worked in the trucking industry 1930- 1934, for Beatty Brothers, Calgary. In the warehouse, 1935-1938, and at Hudson Bay Mining and and Smelting, as a labourer and rigger 1939-1941. |
He enlisted on 3 July 1941 and after training embarked for the U.K. where he arrived at 3 PRC 19 August 1942. He then went to 20 OTU 21 September 1942, 1652 CU 30 December 1942 and 77 Squadron on 26 February 1943, Sadly Raymond was to lose his life on 21 April 1943. |
