Miscellaneous Information
Miles was born at Montreal on 5 July 1921. His father was born in Montreal and worked as a Commercial Artist and his mother was born at Port Lewis, P.Q. He had a brother Peter and three sisters. He attended Montreal High School 1928-1939 and Sir George William College, Montreal for night classes 1940/1941. His sport interests were mostly skiing, cricket and swimming. Miles worked as a Reporter for The Gazette in P.Q. from 1939 until enlisting on 8 June 1942. |
He embarked for UK from New York on 12 October 1943, 3 PRC 2O October 1943, 11 (P) AFU 11 January 1944, 22 OTU 2 May 1944, 61 Base 9 August 1944, and 424 Squadron 26 September 1944. Sadly Miles was to lose his life on 12 January 1945. |
