In September 1939 Jill Goring was living in Liverpool and her mother, Dorothy, by which time her mother has the surname ‘Mathew’ but is living in the same flat as Jill. In 1939 Jill Goring had a registered occupation of ‘Marine Radio Office 2nd P.M.G. No 4224’ (PMG = Post Master General’s Certificate of Competence), all Radio Officers were required to have such a licence. |
