Miscellaneous Information
George was born on 11 March 1914 at Ottawa, Ontario. Both parents were born at Ottawa and his father worked as a Civil Engineer. He attended Corpus Christie Separate School, Ottawa 1922-1928, then Glebe and Ottawa College, 1928-1934 (Business course). His sport interests were badminton in which he held professional championships as well as playing golf and tennis. He worked as a Rodman and timekeeper for a construction company for 3 Years, as a salesman for 7 months, as a clerk in the RCAF, and then as a professional Badminton player for 4 years at the Quebec Winter Club. |
George enlisted on 2 July 1940 and after training was posted to the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 2 March 1941 then went on to 11 OTU on 15 March 1941, 214 Squadron 5 June 1941 and 15 Squadron 29 July 1941. Sadly he was to lose his life on 13 October 1941. |
