| Memorial Text | On February 3, 1943, a Halifax of 419 (Goose) Sqn was part of a raid tasked to bomb Hamburg. En route the Halifax was attacked and shot down by a German Messerschmitt Bf110G-4 nightfighter and crashed here in Odoornerveen. Four crew members were killed in this attack and three were taken prisoner of war. |
