Miscellaneous Information
Walter was born on 23 July 1923 at Montreal, Quebec. His father was born in Howick, Quebec and worked as a Conductor for Canadian National Railways. His mother was born in Hemmingford, Quebec. He had a brother, Trooper. L.E. Fullum. 6 Hussars. H.Q squadron. The schools Walter attended were Daniel O’ Connell, Montreal 1929-1940 (3rd year high), followed by D’Arcy McGee High School, also Montreal 1940-1941 (Jnr Matric, Commercial). Walter enjoyed swimming, hockey, baseball and most other sports. He worked as a clerk for C.N.Railways, Montreal, from 1941 until enlistment. |
After enlisting on 28 August 1942 and completing his training, he embarked from Halifax on 13 September 1943 for the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 20 September 1943 and then continued through 26 OTU 28 September 1943, 31 Base 28 January 1944, and then to 115 Squadron on 30 April 1944. Sadly, Walter was then to lose his life the following month on 23 May 1944. |
