Miscellaneous Information
Warren was born on 10 April 1924 at Indian Head, Saskatchewan. His father, an Accountant, was born in England and his mother in Hamilton, Ontario. He had two brothers Howard Allan and Kenneth Gordon as well as a sister Lois Elaine. He attended Indian Head school 1930-1938 (grade 8) and then continued 1938- 1942 (grade 12). Whilst still attending school, Warren worked as a garage help for Bill Ripley at Indian Head during 1940, then helped out on the farm for Jim Kearns at Windthorst during 1941 and finally labouring at the Forestry farm at Indian Head in 1942 before enlisting. He took part in some of the sports and could also drive a car. |
After enlisting on 28 September 1942 and completing his training he embarked from Halifax on 30 March 1944 before being sent to 3 PRC on 8 April 1944. He was then at 3(P) AFU 16 May 1944, 28 OTU 1 August 1944, 11 Base 15 October 1944 and then 514 Squadron on 1 January 1945. Sadly Warren was to lose his life the following month on 3 February 1945. |
