| Excerpt from "The Fallen Latymerians of The Second World War": Dennis William Firth of 14 Willoughby Rd, W3, and the son of Mr W. Firth, a Clerk, was born on January 28th 1921. He had been a pupil at Wendell Park Elementary School and came to Latymer from there, entering Class 1A on September 13th 1932. On leaving from Form Lower VH on 23rd December 1936, he took up a Clerkship at Cadby Hall with J. Lyons and Co. |

| Operation | Nürnberg. 674 aircraft, 33 losses (4.9%). H2S marking was used and, given the difficulties experiences with Oboe equipment in recent raids, the crews were ordered to drop a 1000lb bomb on Heilbronn using the equipment to check its functionality. Nürnberg was clear and PFF marking was accurate but significant creepback set in and PFF were unable to correct it because, once again, they had difficulties with their H2S sets. Many of the bombs fell in open countryside SSW of the city. 65 people were killed on the ground. |
