Miscellaneous Information
Arnold was born on 21 November 1916 In Montreal. His father was born in Montreal and was an Insurance broker and his mother in Kingston, Ontario. His father died in 1942. He attended Public school 1924-1931, Baron Byng, Montreal 1931-1932 and Kingston Collegiate 1932-1934 (Studied shops and General Academic work). Arnold worked at Gathane Garment Inc., Montreal 1934-1935, learning the needle trade, followed by Consolidated Press Ltd as a salesman for a few months in 1935. |
He enlisted on 4 June 1937 at Kingston, Ontario and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Halifax on 23 June 1943 arriving at 3PRC on 2 July before going to 4(0) AFU. 12 July 1943, 17 OTU 10 August 1943, 1651 C U, 12 November 1943, 31 Base 1 January 1944 and 115 Squadron 28 January 1944. Sadly Arnold was to lose his life on 19 April 1944 from 115 Squadron. |
