Arthur was born at Toronto, Ontario on 9 January 1922. His father, born in England was deceased by the time of Arthur's enlistment. His mother was born in Peterborough, Ontario. He had no siblings. He attended Queen Victoria school until 1935 and then attended Parkdale 1935-1937 before going on to Bloordale College. His sport interests were boxing, swimming, running , fencing and horseback riding. His hobby was building model aircraft. Before enlisting on 18 August 1941, he had worked as a Salesman for T. Eaton Company from 1939-1941. |
After enlisting and training he was posted to the U.K. and arrived at 3(P) AFU on 1 May 1944 before continuing to 24 OTU 3 October 1944, 76 Base 29 December 1944 and 408 Squadron on 5 April 1945. Sadly Arthur was to lose his life shortly afterwards on 25 April, 1945. |
