Miscellaneous Information
Thomas was born on 27 June 1920 at Windsor, Ontario. His father worked as a Salesman and was born at St. Thomas, Ontario, as was his mother. The schools he attended were Douglas Avenue Public School. 1926- 1933, Patterson Collegiate 1933-1938, followed by Windsor Vocational 1938-1939. His hobby was target shooting and a variety of sports including swimming, baseball, and softball. Thomas worked as a theatre usher at the Capital Theatre. 1937-1939. He was then a Salesman for a brush company, 1939-1939, and finally for Mr. Wilkinson as a clerk and undertaking deliveries. |
He enlisted on 11 May 1940 and after training was posted to the U.K. After embarking from Canada he arrived at 3 PRC on 2 March 1941, and was then at 29 OTU 14 March 1941, 1 S S 3 April 1941, 20 OTU 17 May 1941 and 75 Squadron 16 July 1941. Sadly Thomas then lost his life on 8 November 1941. |
