Miscellaneous Information
Emery was born on 9 March 1923 in Toronto. His father was a Tinsmith, and both he and Emery's mother were born in Toronto. He went to St. Anthony’s School 1929-1938 (General course) followed by Central Technical 1938-1939 (Industrial course). He had 1 year Junior Matric. Between 1939-1940 Emery just carried out odd jobs and then worked as a Stock keeper in a Drug Store, 1940-1941. When he occasionally played sport it was usually baseball or hockey. |
After enlisting on 29 May 1941 and early training, Emery embarked from Canada on 28 October 1942 and arrived in the U.K. at 3PRC on 6 November 1942. He went on to 7 AGS 19 December 1942, 23 OTU 9 February 1943, and 428 Squadron on 1 May 1943. Sadly Emery lost his life on 22 May 1943 just three weeks later, shortly after his twentieth birthday. |
