Miscellaneous Information
Joseph Leonard (mostly known as Leonard) was born on 10 April 1922 at Ottawa, Ontario. He was one of fourteen siblings and went to school at Dante Academy, La Salle academy and High School of Commerce. He was employed as a Signalman with C.B.C. before enlisting with the 21 Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in June 1942. He trained at Cornwall & Kingston. |
Tragically, one of two brothers from Ottawa killed in this crash. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signallers and was flying as a passenger after being granted permission to fly with his brother while visiting him on leave. |
