Miscellaneous Information
David was born on 16 October 1919 at Miniota, Manitoba. His parents were both born in Scotland where they married, his father having died in 1943 and his mother in 1942. He had two sisters Phyllis and Irene and two brothers William and Conway. Two other siblings had previously died namely George in 1903 and Jackie in 1909. The schools he attended were Miniota 1924-1932, St. James Assiniboin 1932-1933 and Dan McIntyre, Winnipeg 1933-1935 (Grade 11). He enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting and his hobby was wood turning. David worked for T Eaton Co.Ltd as a Shipper from 1935-1941 when he then enlisted on 24 September 1941. |
After initial training David was posted to the U.K. where he arrived at 3 (RCAF) PRC and was posted to 10 OTU on 23 February 1942. Sadly he lost his life from 10 OTU on 3 June 1943. |
