Miscellaneous Information
Harold was born on 15 May 1913 at Govan, Saskatchewan. His father was born in Bolton, England and his mother in London. He attended the Lestock School, Saskatoon 1920-1928. (Grade 8) and then Saskatoon T.S.I. technical school, 1930-1933 winter courses (Building apprenticeship ). Also a correspondence course I.C.S. in salesmanship. He worked in building for two years, in sales for one year and in collections for Cockshutt Plow Company 1938-1939. He then worked as a Warehouseman, 1940 until enlisting on 10 July 1940. |
Harold embarked from Canada on 3 November 1941 arriving in the U.K. at 3PRC on 14 November 1941. He then went to 405 Sqn 21 November 1941, 401 Sqn 2 January 1942, 1659 CU 20 February 1943 and 408 Squadron 13 March 1943. Sadly Harold lost his life on 30 March 1943, three months before the birth of his baby son. |
