| Reason for Aircraft Loss | The aircraft departed Topcliffe at 2230 hrs. It was initially coned for three minutes by "Werfer 62" of 6/III/Flakscheinw Rgt 1 and "Werfer 87" of 8/III/Flakscheinw Rgt 1. It was subsequently intercepted above Rotem by a Nightfighter captained by Lt. Kurt Loos of 2./NJG1 and shot down at 0234 hrs on 17 May - his 1st "Abschuss". The aircraft crashed near Rotem, Limburg Province. Three of the crew were killed, two became PoWs. |
