Reason for Loss | German Luftwaffe records show that the Blenheim was attacked and shot down at 18.10hrs, approx 60km west of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Kenneth and his crew were shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf109e piloted by Lieutenant Hans Ekkehard Bob of KG54/9. Shooting down the Blenheim was his 5th victory, at the start of his military career that was to see 60 such victories. (Hans Ekkehard Bob died in 2015 he had written several books including autobiographies about the war and the Luftwaffe). |
