Miscellaneous Information
Edmund was born on 19 March 1917 at Montreal, Québec. Both parents were born at Montreal and his father worked as an accountant. He had a brother John Robert who was shown as his next of kin. The schools he attended were St. Patrick’s Boy’s Academy 1924-1930, De La Salle College 1930-1934 and D’Arcy McGee 1935-1936 (Commercial course). He enjoyed many sports including cycling, swimming, walking, tennis, lacrosse etc. and loved studying. Edmund worked at the International Cooperage Company 1936–1937 and Canada General Electric 1937 onwards both times as a clerk. He then enlisted on 22 June 1940. |
