Grossett was born on 27 January 1918 at Credit Forks, London, Ontario. His father was born at Snelgrove, Ontario and was the Manager at CPR telegraphs, London, Ontario and his mother was born at East Tilbury Township, Ontario. He had a sister Margaret and a brother William. He attended Worthy Road Public School, London, Ontario, South Collegiate Institute, London, 1928-1933 and then 7 years at the University of Western Ontario 1933-1939 where he studied medicine and the arts. His hobbies were model aircraft building, photography and music and his sporting interests were basketball, baseball, volleyball and tennis amongst others. Whilst waiting to enlist he took on temporary work in the supervision of a playground during the summer of 1938 and then as a salesman for a dairy in the summer of 1939. |
Grossett enlisted on 4 June 1940. He was being killed on 8 July 1941 from 9 squadron. |
