Miscellaneous Information
His obituary in the Coventry Preparatory School Magazine reads "Patrick Catto joined the RAF as a Flight Sergeant before he left school, and was mobilised at the outbreak of war. On the 10th October 1940, the bomber in which he was co-pilot was badly damaged by gunfire whilst over Germany. On the return journey his base received a message saying that the plane would have to come down in the North Sea.' Since then nothing has been heard of the crew. Patrick was 29 years old". |
