Miscellaneous Information
Charles was born at Nipigon, Ontario on 3 May 1913. Both parents were born in England. His father Rev. Percy Frank Bull died in 1940 and his mother was born in Loughborough. He had brothers Norman Frank and Walter David both of whom were in the RCAF overseas. The schools he attended were: Central Public 1923-1927 North Bay. Sudbury High 1927-1932. Normal School 1932-1933. He then went to Purdue Uni 1936-1939. B.S.M.E. in aeronautics. His interest in sports were rugby, basketball and softball. Charles worked for National Grocers as a warehouseman 1934-1936, Sudbury, at Foleyet & Norman as a school teacher 1933-34, at Burwash Ontario also as a teacher 1934-1936. He then attended University. In 1939 he then worked as an operator for Nickel Co. in 1939. |
On 6 June 1940 Charles enlisted and after training was sent to the U.K. where he arrived at 3 PRC on 25 June 1943. He went on to 14(P) AFU 13 July 1943, 30 OTU 28 September 1943, 1666 CU 29 November 1943 and 431 Squadron 29 December 1943. Charles sadly lost his life on 18 July 1944 |
