Miscellaneous Information
John was born at Montreal on 5 September 1919. His father worked as an engineer and was born in Italy, his mother was born in Montreal. He attended Bishop’s College Prep School 1927-1932, Hudson High School 1933-1933, Bay’s Prep School 1934-1934 and Lower Canada College 1935-1937. John enjoyed most general sports including hockey, football skiing, and sailing. His hobby, building model aircraft. He worked at the Canada Cement Company in Montreal as a clerk, in sales, 1938-1940 after which he enlisted on 22 June 1940. |
Having completed his early training, he was then posted to the U.K., arriving at 3PRC on 2 March 1941. He then passed through 12 OTU 15 March 1941, 19 OTU 24 May 1941, 58 Sqn 22 July 1941 and 35 Squadron 23 July 1941. John sadly lost his life on 31 March 1942. |
