Le 18 Décembre 1944 ces deux bombardiers Halifax (LV818) de la RAF et (NP699,) de la RCAF sont entrés en collision et écrasés près de cet endroit, Quatorze jeunes hommes ont perdu leurs vies dans la cause de la Liberté de l'Europe
