Miscellaneous Information
The loss of Liberator TS526 is detailed in Chapter 9 of the excellent book written about Special Ops Liberators by Steve Bond and Richard Forder. The whole chapter is dedicated to the operations of that fateful night and records the investigation in the cause of the loss, which is believed to be night fighter operations. Appendix 5 of the same book provides detailed biographies of the crew of TS526. There was only one survivor, W/O Alfred Cole (Special Operator) on this operation. The book also records that the TS526 was operating Jostle, Carpet, Piperack and Window. |
