Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born on 9 May 1920 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. His father worked for an Insurance Company (Metropolitan Life). The schools Joseph attended were: Trois-Rivieres Public school from 1926 to 1930, then the Seminaire 1930-1935, Breboeuf College 1935-1937, Plattsburgh High School 1937-1939, finally taking a Business Course at the Cote business College in 1940. Joseph worked as a clerk in J L Tortin a department store, from 1940 onwards. |
He enlisted on 16 May 1941 and after early training embarked from Halifax on 1 June 1942 arriving in U.K. at 3 PRC on 12th. He then went through 7 AGS, Brighton, 23 OTU, 1659 CU and ending up with 419 Squadron on 15 July 1943. |
He enjoyed playing tennis, baseball, hockey and skiing, and enjoyed reading as a hobby. |
