Miscellaneous Information
Edwin was born in Calgary on 28 January 1921. His father was born in Nebraska, USA and his mother in Enderby, B.C. He had a brother Allen Richard Denis and a sister, Norma Aileen. Edwin gained his Senior Matric and studied one year Commercial at the University of Alberta. Between June 1937 and November 1939 Edwin was at No. 13 District Store Section R.C.O.C (N. P.) Recruiting Centre. He had no occupation as was still a Student. |
Edwin enlisted on 20 June 1940. |
Edwin was the first Mount Royal student to be killed in action during the Second World War. He attended Mount Royal in 1940, when he was elected president of the High School class. The Chinook Yearbook called him “a modest and shy student” and remarked he was “a loyal enthusiast of the air force after the Christmas Exams.” |
