Miscellaneous Information
Ralph was born on 16 September 1920 in Dymond Township, Ontario, one of a large family of children. His father was born in London, England, and now works in farming, and his mother was born in Utterson, Ontario and sadly died in 1935. The schools Ralph attended were S.S.3 Dymond, Ontario. 1926-1932 (General), New Liskeard High, Ontario 1932-1938 (Matric). The sports he most enjoyed were skiing, skating, Track and Field and occasionally rugby or basketball. Ralph’s hobby was mechanics. Between 1938 and 1941 he worked in mixed farming, he then worked for three months as a car mechanic and then operating a threshing outfit (all in New Liskeard). |
He enlisted in North Bay on 4 June 1941 and after early training Embarked from Canada on 28 October 1942. He arrived at 3 PRC on 6 November 1942, 7 PRC 28 November 1942 and 102 Squadron 25 January 1943. Just over a week later Ralph was sadly to lose his life. |
