Miscellaneous Information
James was born 15 May 1921 in Hamilton, Ontario and lived in Toronto. He was one of five children. He attended Davisville Public School between 1927 and 1935 and then at the North Toronto High School between 1935 and 1940 where he Matriculated. He appears to have been a student immediately before enlisting. |
He enlisted on 24 January 1941 and after several months of training embarked from Canada to U.K. and 3 PRC on 14 November 1941. He then went through RAF Cranwell in December 1941, 16 OTU, 49 Squadron, Scampton, 1659 CU and on to 419 Sqn on 4 March 1943. |
The Sports he enjoyed were track and field, swimming, baseball, and football |
