Miscellaneous Information
Harold was an office worker in a colliery. He didn't want to join the army so his manager offered him a job and in so doing he had a reserved occupation. He was therefore able to decline the army position and instead volunteered for the RAF. |
Sgt Wyrill's family believe that he is in fact buried at Durnbach Cemetery in an unmarked grave, since it is amongst the graves of his fellow crew. They report that five of the airmen were not wearing name tags that night. |
