Miscellaneous Information
Gordon was born on 20 November 1921 at St. Boniface, Manitoba. His father was a farmer and was born at Hespeler, Ontario and his mother was born in London, England. He had a sister Enid and one brother. LAC Lloyd Wildfong at 18 SFTS, RCAF. Gimli. The schools he attended were Gallivan, and Cut Knife, Saskatchewan 1928-1937 and 1940-1941. He also took a four year Correspondence Course, at Riding Hill between 1937-1941 for grades 9 and 10. For sport he enjoyed playing softball. Gordon worked for (INCO, Copper Cliff , Ontario) as a Plant Operator between 1941 and 1942. |
He enlisted on 27 March 1942 at North Bay, Ontario and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from New York on 9 March 1943 and arrived at 3PRC on the 18th March. He was at 6(0) AFU on 5 July 1943, 83 OTU 3 August 1943, 1667 CU 7 November 1943 and 100 Squadron on 17 February 1944. Gordon sadly lost his life the following month on 15 March 1944. |
