Miscellaneous Information
Robert was born in Montreal on 23 November 1919. His father was a CPR Carman, born in Montreal and his mother was born in Greenville, Quebec. The schools he attended were Gibson (1926-1933) and WestcHill High (1933- 1938). The sports he enjoyed were hockey, tennis and softball. Between 1938 and 1939 he worked as an interior decorator, and then for Canadian Lastex Ltd., Montreal in maintenance until enlisting on 20 August 1940. |
After training he embarked from Canada for the U.K. arriving at 3-PRC on 17 July 1941..he was at 1 signal school 28 July 1941, 14 OTU 18 November 1941 and 420 Squadron 12 May 1942. Sadly, Robert was to lose his life on 3 July 1942. |
