Miscellaneous Information
Ronald was born on 14 November 1911 at Toronto, Ontario. His father was born in Geneva, New York and was an American citizen. He worked as a foreman of Silver Spinners and his mother who was born at Mount Forest, Ontario had sadly died by the time of Ronald's enlistment. He had one brother, Frank Godfrey Weller. He also had a step-mother Anne and a step-sister Marilyn. He went to Dufferin School, Toronto 1916-1925 and Jarvis Collegiate, also at Toronto 1925-1930 (Jr and Sr Matric). This was followed by University College. The sports he enjoyed were squash, badminton, hockey and softball. Ronald worked as an Advertising and Sales rep. between 1934 and 1942 for Imperial Tobacco Sales Company at Kitchener, Ontario. |
On 29 April 1942, Ronald enlisted at London, Ontario and after training embarked for the U.K. on 8 March 1943. He arrived at 3 PRC on 18 March , then 3 (0)AFU 27 July 1943, 26 OTU 24 August 1943, 31 Base 3 December 1943, 1653 CU 14 January 1944, 14 Base 15 March 1944 and 626 Squadron 17 March 1944. Ronald sadly lost his life on 4 May 1944. |
