Miscellaneous Information
Known as Bobby. He was the eldest of 7 children from Weymouth in Dorset. His mother Nora was a Belgian refugee from WWI and came from Antwerp. |
His sister recalls that he had a keen interest in politics and current affairs and in particular, helping those less fortunate. He had a good sense of humour and was a keen sportsman. During his time in training and on ops, he would regularly invite servicemen from overseas to stay at his home while on leave as he was aware of how lonely they must have felt. |
