Miscellaneous Information
George was born on 30 January 1915 at Milwauke, Wisconsin, USA. Both parents were born in Derby, England. His father worked at the Wisconsin Public State Dept. Of Welfare. He attended the Menomonee Jnr. High school. 1921-1929 followed by Eau Claire Senior High in Wisconsin 1930-1934. George worked at the National Pressure Cooker Co. as a receiving clerk, 1932-1935 and then as a Bookkeeper for Northern States Power Company, 1935-1941 |
On 10 February 1941 (whilst the United States was still neutral) he then enlisted (no oath) and embarked from Canada on 24 February 1942. He arrived at 3PRC on 10 March 1942, 7 AGS 30 May 1942, 20 OTU 2 June 1942 and 12 Squadron on 21 August 1942. George sadly died a few weeks later on 14 September 1942. |
