Miscellaneous Information
Born on 24 September 1914 in Calgary, Alberta. His father was born in Toronto and his mother in Lansdowne, Ontario. He had two brothers, James Arnold and Allan Alexander. The family later moved to Seattle where they lived in Lakewood Avenue and his father became the Sales Manager of the Seattle Brewing and Malting Company. Albert went to Sunalta School in Calgary 1921-1929, graduated from Victoria High School 1929-1934 (Junior Matric) and later the University of Washington 1936 -1940 where he studied Business Administration. Whilst at High School he worked in a warehouse in the school holidays and worked part time for three years as a bottler in the Seattle Brewing and Malting, Co. when he was at University in Washington. |
Albert enlisted on 22 July 1941 and after training was sent to the U.K. He embarked on 30 April 1942 arriving at 3 PRC ON 18 May 1942, followed by 11 (P) AFU 23 June, 14 OTU 21 July 1942, 1661 HCU 9 November 1942, and 467 Squadron on 15 November 1942. |
He joined in games such as rugby, baseball and basketball and also working at the YMCA and enjoyed writing. As a hobby he liked to hunt and fish. |
