Miscellaneous Information
There is a memorial to this crew (a mounted propeller) at Guelders, Doornspijk |
An uncorroborated report by his sister in law suggests that all initially survived the crash. Waldorf was found to be wearing a Star of David round his neck when searched by the SS. They attempted to separate him from the rest of the crew but the other crew members resisted and so all were shot. |
Each year in November the local people of Harderwijk hold a ceremony to honour the 43 airmen who lie in their cemetery. |
