Born 22 December 1922, Wandsworth. His father Claude died on 6 November 1940 in Ewell Hospital. Rose married Geoffrey Reynolds Mason in 1939. Reginald was a florist/gardener. In 1939 he lived with his mother in Green Lanes, Ewell, Surrey. He had six siblings/ half-siblings: 2 Stones, 2 Sullivans & 2 Masons. Rose had lost her first husband James Sullivan in WWI. |

Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off from Syerston at 0010 hrs detailed to attack targets in Hamburg. Shot down by Marine Flak from Flak. M. Abt.222(Flak ugruko sud) 1./Schw.Flak. Abt.177.(O). 4./Schw.Flak.531(O). 2. and 3./Schw.Flak Abt 615(V). 1./Schw.Flak.Abt.231(O) and 2.Schw.Flak Abt 223 and crashed in flames at the railway station in Imsum at approx. 03.20hrs. The Flak battery noted the time as 02.58hrs near Neunwalde. The crew were initially buried in Geestemunde Cemetery on 4 February 1943 and were reinterred on 5 November 1946. |
