Miscellaneous Information
Arthur was born on 1 November 1924 at St John, New Brunswick. His father was born in St. John, New Brunswick and was a senior engineering clerk in the Department of Transport, and his mother was born at Fredericton. He had two sisters, Cora and Frances. He attended King George School 1930-1934, Victoria School 1934-1938 and St. John High 1938- 1941. Some of the sports he enjoyed were soccer softball, cricket and rowing and his hobby was chemistry. Arthur worked as a clerk at the Bank of Nova Scotia 1941-1942 and he then enlisted on 19 November 1942 at Moncton, N.B. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Halifax on 29 April 1944, arriving at 3PRC on 8 May 1944. He was then at 8 (0) AFU on 20 June 1944, 18 OTU 28 July 1944, 11 Base 25 September 1944 and 625 Squadron 18 November 1944. Sadly Arthur then lost his life on 14 February 1945. |
