Miscellaneous Information
Born 26 March 1909, Christchurch, Hampshire. He had been a commercial artist before enlisting. He passed his pilot's licence on 26 September 1939 at the Wiltshire Flying Club. His father Charles had been a GPO Engineer; he was awarded the Imperial Service Medal on 21 November 1947 for his services to engineering in the Bournemouth area. |
Both were originally buried in a Trausfeld Civil Cemetery but were reinterred on 18 June 1948. This was the crew's 4th operation. |
