Miscellaneous Information
He was involved in a crash earlier in same year: Lancaster ND456 hit a barn at the end of the runway at RAF Grimsby. The crew were unable to get the undercarriage up or down so flew around the north sea for 3 hours to use fuel, and jettison their bombs before crash landing at RAF Woodbridge. All the crew survived that crash. |
