Reason for Loss | On return to base at 0030 and probably while switching fuel tanks the starboard engine cut and the Wellington crashed into the Moray Firth. Search and rescue began a search of the area, finding F/S Warner lying on wing and soon after finding a dinghy with the unconscious bodies of two of the crew. |
