Reason for Loss | After ten hours in the air this Lancaster crashed 04:15 on 8 Jan 1945 and exploded near the village of Eye, 3 miles NE from the centre of Peterborough. No bodies were found and it is thought likely the crew abandoned the aircraft while over the sea. |
