| Reason for Aircraft Loss | Airborne 2022. Cause of loss and actual crash- site not established. Reported as crashing 'near Dusseldorf', where the crew were initially buried in the city's Nordfriedhof. They have been subsequently re-interred in the Reichwald Forest War Cemetery. Z1480 was one of three 142 Sqdn Wellingtons lost on this operation. see: DF550, Z1380.
